Facebook has paid $10,000 to a 10-year-old Finnish boy for spotting a bug in the social networking giant owned photo-sharing platform Instagram.
As per reports, the boy named Jani discovered a security error in Instagram. He found a bug that let him delete any comment on Instagram. He reported the bug by email and proved it by deleting a message on one of test Instagram accounts. After his discovery in February, Facebook rewarded him in March.
Jani said that he wishes to become a security researcher.
Facebook has a bug bounty programme and in February this year, Facebook announced that it paid $4.3 million in rewards to over 800 security researchers for spotting 2,400 bugs since launching the bug bounty programme in 2011.
