1st Time: Beijing Overtakes New York as City with Highest Number of Billionaires

For the first time in the history, Capital city of China, Beijing has overtaken New York as the city with the highest number of billionaires

As per the official data released today, a total of 100 billionaires are now living in Beijing compared to the 95 in New York City. Beijing has welcomed 32 new billionaires in the past one year whereas New York City saw only four new billionaires emerging.

Overall, China overtakes the US as the country with the Highest Number of billionaires. The top 10 billionaires list is still dominated by America though.

Shanghai, China’s financial capital, occupied fifth place in the list of cities with most billionaires.
