60 patients lose eyesight at eye camp in Punjab

According to Civil and Medical Authorities report, at least 60 persons have lost their eyesight after an operation at an eye camp organised by a NGO in Punjab State.

Affirming the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, Ravi Bhagat said the 16 affected patients admitted to the city ENT Hospital are under the supervision of Assistant Professor Karamjit Singh.

Singh said that every one of them have forever lost their vision.

Ravi Bhagat said that a high level inquiry has been ordered to discover the specialists who performed the Operations at the camp.
