Ahead of the 2016 General Assembly Elections in Tamil Nadu, DMK Chief M Karunanidhi is making master moves to dethrone J Jayalalithaa by defeating her AIADMK party.
In a bid to achieve his target, he took up the task of uniting all the Opposition Parties in the state to defeat AIADMK. As he knows well that it will not be a cake walk to dethrone Jayalalithaa, he took this decision. The other day, he declined the chance of forming an alliance with BJP and announced that his DMK is ready for pre-poll alliance with Congress ahead of 2016 Assembly Polls.
In fact, DMK was coalition partner of UPA till the 2014 Elections. The Tamil Madu party however committed the blunder of contesting the Lok Sabha polls alone and as expected lost all the seats to Jayalalithaa led AIADMK. This time, Karunanidhi is firm on not repeating the mistake. Even Congress is keen on forming Alliance with DMK.
The DMK Supreme has already made pact with actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth led DMDK.
