The BOXING DAY Test at the Sidney Cricket Ground (SCG) between Australia and West Indies has witnessed the fastest ball ever bowled in the history of Test Cricket.
Australian pace bowler Josh Hazelwood broke the fastest ball record registered by Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. As per official report, Hazelwood bowled a ball at 164.2 kmph speed to West Indies opener Rajendra Chandrika during the second innings of the West Indies.
Earlier the fastest ball record was with Shoaib Akhtar, who bowled at 161.3 kmph speed. The West Indian opener was quite surprised by the fastest ball he faced. Even the speedometer was rechecked as even the organizers of the match were surprised and couldn’t believe at first.
Coming to the match, Australia won it comfortably. Off-spinner Nathan Lyon was given the Man of the Match.
