Congress Party senior leader and former Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan on Friday quit the party.
“It is a great degree agonizing minute for me. Time has come to reconsider my association due to what happened in the later past,” Natarajan said.
Natarajan said that she was quitting the party in view of issues with the party national command.
“When I was the Environment Minister in the UPA, I received several requests from Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to protect and preserve environment. I needed to put several projects on hold in view of this.” She added.
