In a ghastly incident, terrorists targeted Indian Air Force base in Pathankot in Punjab in the early hours today. The fierce gun battle that lasted for over 5 hours resulted in the death of 4 terrorists and 2 IAF personnel.
50 commandos of the National Security Guard (NSG) and terrorists continued the gun battle till 8 am, which started at around 3 am. As per sources, terrorists, who represent terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad, wore Army-style clothes during this attack. The commandos have done combing after the gun battle was over to check if there were any more militants in the area.
Central Forces and Punjab Police force worked with good coordination to end this dreaded gun battle in quick time. A high alert was issued and the area turned into a war zone ever since the operation began. Finally, the situation has been taken under control.
