Cricket Australia has taken a tough decision of dropping former Captain and star player Shane Watson from the ODI squad for the coming series against India. Steve Smith retained captaincy.
The squad selected to play ODI series against India is: Steve Smith (Captain), David Warner, Aaron Finch, George Bailey, Scott Bouveland, Josh Hazelwood, James Faulkner, Michelle Marsh, Matthew Wade Shaun Marsh, Maxwell, Cane Richardson and Joel Paris.
Although the team looks balanced with senior payers like Steve Smith, David Warner, Finch, Bailey, Maxwell, Faulkner and Marsh having experience of playing against India, the dropping of Shane Watson surprised many, considering his excellent record against India. Hiss recent form has been termed as the reason but he has lots of experience of playing against Indian players in the IPL.
Meanwhile Indian payers are getting ready to land in Australia to play few practice matches before commencing the series. After South Africa series at Home, this Australia series will be another test for Indian team.
