Express Highway to Connect Hyderabad & Vijayawada Announced

The Telangana State Government which has been crying foul over the Central Government ever since the separation of states for not allotting funds and projects, has finally been given Rs 41,000 Crore worth road projects.

Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has made this announcement, which includes 2 Express Highways from Hyderabad to Bengaluru and Vijayawada at a cost of Rs 16,000 crore.

“The total package for Telangana is Rs 41,000 crore. This is not the final figure. It is still open for discussion. And if any new National Highway is recommended from the leaders of Telangana or from the state government or from our leaders, we will think positively and we will support Telangana as a new state.

The Telangana portion of cost of construction for the two Express Highways would be Rs 16,000 crore covering 190 km for Vijayawada and 210 km for Bengaluru Express Highways,” the Union Minister added.

He further said the government will very soon prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the two Express Highways connecting the capitals of Telangan with Caoitals of AP and Karnataka.

On the eve, Nithin Gadkari participated in several programmes along with TS Chief Minister KCR and few other union and state ministers.
