Ace West Indies hard-hitting batsman Chris Gayle has been fined 10,000 Australian dollars for asking a female interviewer to go out with him on live television during a Big Bash League match on Monday.
The 36-year-old star Cricketer was speaking to Beautiful female reporter Mel McLaulin of Channel 10 when he made sexual intended comments like,” I came here to give you the interview. To see your eyes for the first time is nice. Hopefully we can have a drink afterwards. Don’t blush baby. Let’s go out.”
Mel denied she was shy and continued the interview.
Gayle later apologized for his incident comments. “There wasn’t anything meant to be disrespectful or offensive to Mel. If she felt that way, I’m really sorry for that. It was a simple joke. The game was going on. Entertainment, things get out of proportion but these things happen,” Gayle later told reporters.
On the other hand, Mel said she was a bit disappointed over the happenings.
The fine amount will be donated to a breast cancer charity foundation, reported Cricket Australia (CA) official website.
