Team India, which has lost the first two ODIs to Australia in the ongoing series in Australia, has reached the No.1 Position in the latest released ICC Test Rankings.
Thanks to South Africa’s 2-0 defeat in the home series against rampant England, India, which was at second place before the start of South Africa – England series, achieved No.1 raking under Virat Kohli’s able Leadership. South Africa dropped to third place from first after their shameful defeat in the third Test match against England.
After Virat Kohli took charge as captain of Tests, India won back-to-back Test series against Sri Lanka and South Africa. While India defeated Sri Lanka 2-1 at their home, Proteas were crushed to 3-0 defeat in the recent series at home. Currently, India is at top in the Test Rankings with 110 points while Australia is at the second place with 109 points.
Australia might topple India to take the top spot if it wins the upcoming Test series against New Zealand. On the other hand, India will play Test Cricket only after 5 more months.
