It is known that the Kapu Agitation seeking BC Status for held on 31st January took a violent turn with few miscreants setting Ratnachal Express on fire in Tuni.
The Ratnachal Express has been transporting the passengers from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam for nearly two decades. For the first time in the history, the Express was suspended for a week. People faced several hardships in the past one week following the suspension of services of Ratnachal Express.
The swift action by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made Southern Railways resume the services of Ratnachal Express in just one week by replacing the charred express with a new one. This morning, the services of the express have been resumed. The compartments have been reduced from 24 to 17 though.
Ratnachal Express has received a grand welcome today at Tune railway station. Locals have welcomed the staff with flowers and garlands. People expressed their happiness after the return of Ratnachal Express.
