Local handset maker Ringing Bells has recently created a storm in the country by announcing to manufacture and sell Freedom-251 Smartphone for just Rs 251.
As soon as the bookings were stared, enthusiastic members logged onto website to get hands on this cheapest smartphone. However, many raised complaints as the website was terribly slow and many faced issues while making payments. Could you believe that 50 million orders were still made?
After receiving 50 million orders for their smartest smartphone, the startup President Ashok Chaddha said that the start-up is now planning to set up 2 manufacturing plants with Rs 250 crores expenditure.
Freedom-251 would start delivery from 10th of April 10 and by 30th June maximum number of phones would be delivered. The exact number was not specified but it is said that makers could deliver only 25 lakh devices at the most.
The delivery schedule would adopt first-come-first-serve policy.
