A passenger has been slapped with a heavy fine of £1000 for urinating in the aisle of a plane in an inebriated state.
The incident happened on January 19, when the passenger identified as Jinu Abraham was onboard Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight from India to Birmingham. The 39-year-old man was drunk at the time he urinated. Soon after the incident, he was restrained by the cabin crew by handcuffing him.
As per the prosecuting lawyers, Jine Abraham had boarded the plane with his 10-year-old son and about 40 minutes prior to landing he started urinating on the floor of the aircraft. Abraham had two whiskeys and was on anti-depressants, it is said.
Abraham was said to be mentally depressed and was nervous about flying. His lawyer claimed Abraham had no recollection of the shameful event and was shocked when he realized what he had done.
