IPC Section 498A Helps ‘Kapoor’ Actress too

The controversial IPC Section 498A (Dowry Harassment), which is often misused by many Women in India to drag their husband and in-laws to court, has helped rich and powerful Kapoor actress also.

Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, the grand-daughter of legendary Raj Kapoor, has been indulged in a five year long battle with her husband Sunjay Kapur for Divorce settlement. Karisma has now applied the masterstroke by filing the dowry harassment case against her husband and mother-in-law.

For the starters, the Celebrity couple has been living separate for the past 5 years. They tied the knot in 2003. The divorce case filed by the couple hasn’t reached any conclusion so far with both the parents seeking custody of their Children.

Vexed, Karisma Kapoor has now lodged a dowry complaint against Sunjay Kapur. In her complaint, Karisma accused Sunjay and his mother of mentally harassing her for dowry. Based on her complaint, police booked a case against Sunjay Kapur and his Mother under IPC Sections 498A and 34.

Sanjay on the other hand alleges that Karisma married him only for his money. The case will come up for next hearing on March 3.
