Delhi Airport Adjudged World’s Best

The Airports Council International (ACI) has adjudged the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi as the world’s Best for the second consecutive year.

The IGIA has achieved two more coveted awards, best airport by size and region in Asia Pacific and the second best Airport by Region-Asia Pacific. The ranking was announced by the ACI for the 2015 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. ACI is a trade association of the world’s airports founded in 1991.

The IGIA scored 4.96 on a scale of 1 to 5 in the ASQ survey to regain the number one title. The airport is a gateway to 58 domestic and 62 international destinations used by six domestic and 57 foreign airlines. It handled 958 flights and 760 thousand tonnes of cargo on an average per day in year 2015.

Air India, IndiGo, Vistara and SpiceJet use IGAI airport as their hub.
