Indian T20I and Test Skippers MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli have created new records during the same match, the T20I Match between India and Sri Lanka in the ongoing Asia Cup in Bangladesh.
After smashing a ball bowled by Sri Lankan spinner Siriwardana for six, Dhoni became the only captain in Cricket history to have hit 200 international sixes. He surpassed the likes of Ricky Ponting (171) of Australia, Brendon McCullum (170) of New Zealand, Chris Gayle (134) of West Indies and Sourav Ganguly (132) of India to occupy the top rank by a huge margin.
After receiving Man-of-the-Match award for his match winning knock of 56 runs, Virat Kohli equaled Yuvraj Singh’s record of 7 Man-of-the-Match awards. Yuvraj took 49 matches to win 7 awards while Kohli achieved the feat in just 36 matches.
With the win against Sri Lanka, India reached finals of Asia Cup.
