Russian Tennis ace Maria Sharapova, who called for an unscheduled press conference on Monday, was expected to make a major announcement about retirement but she made a much startling revelation.

Sharapova revealed that she failed a drug test at the Australian Open. Sharapova had received a letter from the International Tennis Foundation (ITF) many days ago informing her that she had failed the drug test for a substance that had been legal until 1^st Jan, 2016.

Sharapova said to media that the substance she had been taking throughout her career has only appeared on the banned list of WADA this year.
