Indian Cricketer Rohit Sharma has won the ESPN Cricinfo award for the third consecutive year, a record so far.
The awards were given for stand out performances across all the three formats of the game for 2015.
after winning the award for his ODI double hundreds in year 2013 and 2014, Rohit Sharma has won it this year for playing the ‘T20 Innings of the Year’. His innings of 106 against South Africa has been rated as the Best batting effort by any player.
Recently retired New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum was awarded the newly constituted ‘Captain of the Year’ award.
England’s fast bowler Stuart Broad has won the ‘Best Test Bowling’ award for his spell of 8/15 in the fourth Ashes Test against Australia. The award for ‘Best Test Innings’ went to New Zealand player Kane Williamson for his 242 against Sri Lanka.
The Best ODI innings award went to AB De Villiers for his whirlwind hundred off just 31 balls against West Indies. Tim Southee’s 7/33 against England in a World cup match was awarded the best ODI bowling effort.
The jury panel comprised former payers Ian Chappell, Courtney Walsh, John Wright, Mahela Jayawardene, Ajit Agarkar, Sanjay Manjrekar, Russell Arnold and Mark Nicholas.
