Students will no longer be allowed to carry and use mobile phones as their use has been banned on campuses across the state of Tamil Nadu, India.
A circular issued by the Directorate of Collegiate Education, accessed by media, directs all regional joint directors to inform all government, aided and self-financing institutions regarding the brand new order.
On the contrary, the order will not apply to centre-run institutions such as IIT Madras.
In response to this specific order, the students across the State call it a regressive move.
