Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank (ADCB) has recently filed a criminal defamation case against Indian National Congress President Rahul Gandhi and spokesperson Randeep Surjewala over their “false and defamatory allegations” against the bank.
The Congress leaders had Shared a news report in June that stated old currency notes worth ₹745 crore had been exchanged at the Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank within five days of demonetisation in year 2016.
A member of the Indian Parliament, Gandhi represents the constituency of Amethi, Uttar Pradesh in the 16th Lok Sabha.
Gandhi took over as the president of the Congress in December 2017. He is also a Trustee of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust.
