An estimated over 1 million people attended the Kavathu held on Monday on Dhawaleswaram Barrage.
Jana Sena party chief Pawan Kalyan held a historic marathon campaign (Kavathu) across Godavari river to send Andhra Pradesh government as well as Central Government a clear message that people of Andhra are fed-up with corrupt and opportunistic politics.
The event was held on historical Dowleswaram Barrage in Godavari districts on 15th of October. The kavathu was included a huge 2-3-kilometre public rally, cultural concerts, and Pawan Kalyan’s speech.
An estimated over 10 lakh people attended the Kavathu held on Monday on Dhawaleswaram Barrage. Though Jana Sena chief was supposed to march on the Cotton Barrage, he later changed his plans after instructions by police that such a move might lead to chaos and stampede.
Though Pawan Kalyan reached Cotton Barrage by 2.45 pm, it took over three hours for him to reach Dowleswaram as crowd was massive.
Addressing the Kavathu, Pawa Kalyan has extended his greetings to each and every Jana Sena activist and later slammed ruling party Telugu Desam, main opposition party YSR Congress, and BJP-led NDA Government for their corrupt and opportunistic politics.
“I supported Chandrababu Naidu in 2014 elections as Andhra Pradesh needed an experienced Chief Minister. But after winning the elections, Chandrababu Naidu completely ignored the poor people. Opposition Leader YS Jagan is also behaving recklessly,’’ Pawan Kalyan said.
“We want Our lawmakers to put an end to convenient and opportunistic politics. The New Generation is sick and tired of this attitude in our law makers. This is not the legacy we have inherited from Sri Baba saheb Ambedkar,” Pawan Kalyan added.
On 2 May 2018, the Jana Sena Party (JSP) announced that the party will contest all 175 Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh in the 2019 assembly election.
