A group of Titli cyclone affected victims from a village in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh told Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan that their village which has over 30 families received only Rs. 500 ($7) from the government officials.
Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday (17th of October) visited Titli cyclone affected areas in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh and interacted with victims to understand the scenario.
He also extended his party support to the victims and asked JanaSena activists to participate in rescue Operations by providing cyclone affected victims the basic necessities (i.e food, water, cloths).
During his interaction with victims in a village, a group of people told him that their village which has over 30 families received only Rs. 500 ($7) from the government officials.
Mr. Kalyan assured the villagers to take the issue forward and make the Andhra Pradesh government as well as central authorities understand the ground level reality.
Between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. IST October 11 (23:00–00:00 UTC October 10–11), Titli made landfall near Palasa, Andhra Pradesh, at peak intensity.
The storm killed at least 15 people and left a couple of others missing, due to heavy flooding and landslides.
