The shocking fact of the matter is no single mainstream media channel in Andhra Pradesh highlighted the issues raised by JanaSena chief Pawan Kalyan, they simply side-lined though the issues include Illegal Mining activities, cyclone Titli were debatable subjects.
A vital characteristic of media bias is framing. A frame is the preparing of a news story, with the goal of influencing Audience to favor one side or the other.
Government influence biases the media in some countries, especially in authoritarian regimes, for example North Korea.
It has now spread to the Andhra Pradesh.
A few of brand-new incidents occurred in Andhra Pradesh prove the credibility of this particular statement.
JanaSena Party chief Pawan Kalyan as part of his campaign called ‘Porata Yatra’ has recently tried to reach out to the tribal living in Vanthada village, East Godavari district where alleged illegal mining activities have been carrying out by a private mining company called Andru minerals. The company reportedly belongs to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader.
But the mining company threatened Pawan Kalyan and tried to stop his visit to mining area by blocking the roads with vast piles of mud and stones.
Despite all the obstruction created by the mining clique, Mr. Kalyan continued his journey on foot to reach out the mining spot and meet the tribal people who have been suffering with several health issues for years due to pollution in water.
On seeing the JanaSena Chief, Tribal Community welcomed him and explained their problems in a detailed manner.
Later speaking to the media Pawan Kalyan said “mining activities worth over Rs. 3000 crores are carrying out in the area. Yet, these vulnerable people are deprived of drinking water and unadorned minimum facilities.”
Mr. Kalyan also gave a live update on his Facebook page from ‘ Vanthada ‘ village, prathhipadu Mandal. He said, “there are a lot mining issues came to my notice”.
He later took to Twitter and wrote,”Illegal bauxite mining in the name of laterite is banned in reserved forests. These mountains act as natural sponge to absorb water ,will increase ground water level & maintains ecological balance.”
“Everything happens in vanthada bauaxite mining area; where both opposition & ruling Parties came together in plundering Mother Earth,” he said.
“Instead of stopping illegal mining Sri CBN (Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu) & Sri Lokesh (Son of CBN and minister) continues to encourage,” Mr. Kalyan said.
“How come Sri YS Jagan (YSR Congress chief and opposition leader) is tight lipped about Bauxite mining. Is he pro or anti- bauxite mining?,” Mr. Kalyan questioned the ruling TDP and opposition YSR Congress.
He also uploaded a short Video on Twitter and said “JSP (JanaSena Party) is against Bauxite mining; in the following video you could see the illegal mining exploitation in a reserved forest.”

But the shocking fact of the matter is no single mainstream media channel highlighted the issue, they simply side-lined though it was a debatable subject.
The same thing happened during his visit to Cyclone Titli victims. No single mainstream media house in Andhra Pradesh allotted sizable airtime on the issues Pawan Kalyan raised. He also met with Governor E.S.L Narasimhan and submitted a comprehensive report on damage occurred in the North Andhra region.
Since the issue has been deliberately ignored by the Telugu mainstream media, AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu even didn’t know about the letter sent by Pawan Kalyan and said, “‘Pawan Kalyan’ didn’t even write to Centre regarding ‘Titli’ cyclone devastation”.
Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday (6th of November) reacted to Chadrababu Naidu comments and proved with proofs how uninformed he was.
Mr. Kalyan again took to Twitter and wrote, “Hon.CM Sri CBN garu, it. And to my notice that yesterday you have said that ‘Pawan Kalyan’ didn’t even write to Centre regarding ‘Titli’ cyclone devastation. Here’s the proof.”
He further said, “the problem in ‘AP’ is especially; most of the electronic media is all yours, so you control whether news of JSP should go out or not. And it’s natural you didn’t let the news comes out , so that you can malign us in public.”
