According to various media reports, the 2019 Oscars, known as Academy Awards will be held without a host.

If reports prove true, the 2019 Oscars will mark the first time in 30 years that the event has not secured a host.

The information comes after comedian Kevin Hart stepped down, as he was announced as 2019 Oscars host.

He reportedly stepped down following criticism over his old homophobic tweets.

The 91st Academy Awards ceremony, honoring the Best Films of 2018, will be held on February 24, 2019, at the Dolby Theatre, in Los Angeles, California.

The ceremony will be broadcast on ABC. A total of 3,072 Oscar statuettes have been awarded from the inception of the award through the 90th ceremony.

The Academy Awards ceremony was first broadcast on radio in 1930 and televised for the first time in 1953.
