Jagmeet Singh, the leader of the New Democratic Party, was elected in federal by-elections held on 25th of February.
Mr. Singh cheered by all the members of the house when he entered the House of Commons on Monday (18th of March).
Singh’s first words as an elected lawmaker were about New Zealand terrorist attack. He then started his first question about housing in Burnaby-South.
Mr. Singh has been widely recognized in Canadian media for his fashion and style sense. Ideologically, he identifies as both a progressive and a social democrat.
