This year in March, Google+ rolled out the Alpha version of AR-based navigation. An AR is referred to as “Augmented Reality” that serves as an interactive experience with the environment in reality where perceptual information generated by the computers augment the object that exists.
It made the Travel easier for Travellers who roam in unfamiliar roads to reach the destinations. The AR was first tested in Hong Kong and is much likely to be tested in India as well, where reaching the destination in Google map is challenging because of complicated streets.
To a surprise, the AR features rolled out at India’s capital New Delhi. And as per reports, it worked well, but as it is still in alpha phase, it is not free from bugs. As the AR is still in the developmental process, one cannot rely entirely on the feature, but it gives the glimpse of what the future of navigation has stored.
By when the feature will be rolled out for people is still unknown but it will be announced most probably in Google’s Developer Conference in May.
