Jaspreet Bumrah Injured during the Match Against Delhi Capitals

2019 is quite an exciting year for Cricket lovers. Well in a same calendar year when you have back to back mega events scheduled, what more you can ask. Yes, it all starts with the best T2O domestic tournament of the world, The Indian Premier League followed by the event which all cricketers dream of playing, The ICC 50 Overs World Cup.

But, there arises a critical question??? Do key Indian players need some rest in the IPL so that they are fully fit for World Cup???

Well IPL is a very long tournament which consists of 14 league matches and the knockouts after that. One needs to be fit enough to play all the matches that too, every game being played in hot and humid conditions with just a day or two gaps between them.

Indian Players Need to be Fit for The World Cup

Thereby, players, especially the key ones need some rest so that they stay fresh and active for the World Cup without any injury concerns. Indian Skipper Virat Kohli himself stressed on the point like Indian as well as foreign players need to get a bit of rest.

We also saw a live example in the first match of Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals where No 1 Fast Bowler of the world currently, Jaspreet Bumrah got himself injured while fielding. It is a matter of grave concern because Bumrah will be the most lethal weapon for India in the world Cup.

Thus, I guess, key Indian players like Virat Kohli, Jaspreet Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya and even likes of Kedar Jadhav, Rishabh Pant , Kuldeep Yadav or Ravinder Jadeja should be rested for 4 to 5 matches in IPL so that they remain injury free and are not exhausted beofr the World Cup.

As what matters more is India winning the 2019 World Cup in front of the Lord’s crowd.
