Freeware, cross-platform messaging and Voice over IP service company WhatsApp is reportedly testing brand-new developments to its ‘Authentication feature‘.

According to WABetaInfo,  the WhatsApp is testing new developments to its ‘Authentication feature‘ that blocks users from taking screenshots of their private chats.

The WABetaInfo reports, “in this beta update we find a new improvements for the Authentication feature (that’s not available yet). When the Authentication feature will be enabled, your fingerprint is obviously required to open WhatsApp, but conversation screenshots are blocked.”

It means users will not be able to take screenshots of their chats if they enable the feature.

By February 2018, WhatsApp had over one and a half billion users, making it the most popular messaging application at the time.

It has grown in multiple countries, including India, and large parts of Europe, including the United Kingdom and France.
