YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has put his first signature as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh on the file hiking Social Security pensions from June 2019.
Mr. Reddy has also announced that his government would create 1,60,000 jobs by October 2019 and fill up 4,00,000 gram volunteers from August 15th.
YSR Congress party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday (30th of May) at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada has taken oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Reddy has put his first signature on the file hiking social security pensions from June 2019.
He has also announced that his government would create One Lakh Sixty Thousand jobs by October this year and fill up 4 lakh gram volunteers from August 15th.
Mr. Reddy further assured that his government would implement Navaratnalu (a total of 9 promises) – a key part in his election manifesto in memo and spirit.
Now, the question is why does YS Jagan Reddy need Gram Volunteers to deliver government schemes to citizens?
YS Jagan Reddy’s ‘Gram volunteers’ idea is nothing but giving powers to middlemen. If the aim of his government’s Welfare Schemes is to deliver the services straight to beneficiaries, what’s the point of recruiting Gram volunteers?
There’s an adequate Technology to avoid middlemen between the governments and citizens. Why those services can’t be delivered via banks? Why can’t Mr. Reddy encourage people to open bank accounts? So that that beneficiaries don’t need to depend on Gram Volunteers.
Are Gram Volunteers Replacing Chandrababu’s Janmabhoomi Committees?
Mr. Reddy back in 2017 slammed Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government for setting up Janmabhoomi Committees.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on December 05, 2018 accused the State Government of running a “mafia” in the name of Janmabhoomi Committees in every village.
He had also said that the Janmabhoomi Committees were aimed at ensuring that only TDP leaders were helped by the government.
Now the biggest question is, how Mr. Reddy is going to differentiate Gram Volunteers’ from Janambhoomit Committees?
