JanaSena party President Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday (October, 15) condemned murder of a Telugu journalist.

Killing of Katha Satyanarayana, who is working as a reporter for Andhra Jyothy in Tondagi area of East Godavari district (Andhra Pradesh) is ruthless act, JanaSena chief said in a statement.

He said, his party Janasena felt the incident as a barbaric act. The way the stabbing incident occurred is shocking and we felt whether we are in Andhra Pradesh or somewhere else. It is like killing journalism, one of the four pillars of the democracy, he said.

“It appears the culprits came to a conclusion and committed the crime that they wanted to create a reign of terror to take the situations under their control. We need to suspect that there is a huge conspiracy as the murder took place on the road in the close vicinity of his house at T Venkatapuram village near Tuni,” he added.

Slamming the negligence of Police department, Mr. Kalyan said, “a murder attempt was made against Journalist Satyanarayana earlier and it went up to the notice of the police also. It is atrocious that despite the murder attempt the police failed to provide any protection to him.”

Demanding the impartiality from the government of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Kalyan said, the government should punish the culprits by bringing them before the law without showing any bias.

He also demanded the government to give ex-gratia to the family of journalist.

“I extend my profound sympathies to the family members of Satyanarayana,” he added.
