The Supreme Court of India has said that the restrictions on Women in religious places was not limited to Sabarimala temple alone and was prevalent in other religions as well.

The Supreme Court of India on 14th November said that restrictions on Women in religious places was not limited to Sabarimala temple alone and was prevalent in other religions as well.

Supreme Court has referred the review petitions to a seven-judge bench.

The court said, the larger seven judge bench will decide all such religious issues concerning to Sabarimala, entry of Women in mosques and practice of female genital mutilation in the Dawoodi Bohra community.

In September 2018, a judgement of the Supreme Court of India ruled that all pilgrims regardless of gender, including Women in the menstruating age group, should be allowed entrance to Sabarimala

This verdict led to protests by people who oppose the verdict.
