Is Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSR Congress Party cadre still disrespecting and insulting Indian national flag? latest much-viralled picture says YES.

A picture that has gone viral on Social Media shows the pillar of Gandhi statue has been replaced by flag colours of YSR Congress (blue, green and white) party.

This happened in Minister Bothsa Sathyanarayana’s Vijayanagaram district,A.P, according to Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan’s statement.  

Yesterday it was national flag, today it is Gandhi ji! Who’s going to be tomorrow Mr. Jagan Reddy??? Pawan Kalyan questions ruling party.

A few weeks ago another picture had gone viral on social media and that  shows a man erasing Indian national flag with YSR Congress party’s flag colour paint on a wall of Village Panhayat bulding.

That incident allegedly took place in Tamedavalli village, Amaravaram Mandal of Ananthapur district.

Bharatiya Janata Party Andhra Pradesh State President Kanna Lakshmi Narayana also posted a few more pictures on his Twitter page.

Lanka Dinakar, a BJP leader from AP said, the AP government has been painting the government offices including Panchayath offices, school buildings, and other Government buildings with the YSR Congress Party flag colour across the state, from the last 5 months by using public money.

On 4th November, Andhra Pradesh government had passed an order to rename an award named after former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam and name it after Jagan Reddy’s father YSR Rajasekhar Reddy.

Issuing a government order, the Andhra Pradesh education department said the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Pratibha Puraskar Awards will now be known as YSR Vidya Puraskar Awards.

What does “The Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971” say?

The Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 prohibits the desecration of or insult to the country’s national symbols, including the National Flag, the constitution, the National Anthem and map of India including contempt of Indian constitution.

Whoever in any public place or in any other place within public view shows disrespect to or brings into contempt (whether by words, either spoken or written, or by acts) the Indian National Flag shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
