Shah Rukh Khan’s next Film ‘Raees’, which was slated to clash with Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ on the eve of Eid, has officially averted the clash.
The Rahul Dholakia directorial has been postponed from 2016 to 2017. The makers of Raees, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, have released an official statement to confirm this.
The statement reads, “It was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that Raees is highly anticipated. However, a film of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to 26th January, 2017.”
This postponement definitely upset Shah Rukh’s fans who have been waiting for the thriller.
Interestingly, the Republic Day WEEKEND of 2017 is already occupied by Hrithik Roshan’s “Kaabil” and Ajay Devgan’s “Baadshaho”. The clash with Sultan has been averted but Raees has set up another clash with two other biggies.
