In Asian Games 2014 held at South Korea’s Incheon city, India won the Hockey finals after defeating Pakistan 4-2 in a penalty shoot out.
This is India’s first gold following 16 years . With this win India has qualified for the 2016 Olympics at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
As per the reports, Tintu Lukka, Mandeep Kaur, Priyanka Pawan and R.Poovamma have additionally made a record by winning the gold in 4×400 metres relay.
On this winning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the hockey team and Women athletes who won Gold Medals in Asian Games 2014.
“Great day for India at the Asian Games,” PM Modi tweeted.
