According to the report of ‘United Nations’Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific, the gap between the poor and the rich is developing in the Asia-Pacific.
In the major economies including India, Indonesia and China the pay imbalance has been higher- UN-ESCAP said.
This report says “a measure of pay imbalance – between 1990s and late 2000s expanded from 30.8 to 33.9 in India.
The key elements for augmenting income gaps are identified as lacking quality in education, deficient Social Security frameworks and insufficient access to credit and land.
