Madras High Court on Monday terminated interim anticipatory bail of former Telecommunications Minister Dayanidhi Maran in alleged illegitimate telephone exchange case.
According to reports, Justice S Vaidhyanathan has instructed Maran to surrender before the CBI (Central Burea of Investigation) within 3 days.
The CBI has accused Maran connected with supplying in excess of 300 high-speed telephone lines go his brother Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Television channel.
CBI also claimed he was not cooperating in the investigation. The CBI has documented an FIR against Maran claiming that more than three hundred high-speed telephone lines had been set up at his Chennai residence when he was telecommunications minister from year 2004-07 and these were extended to his brother’s SUN Television station.
As understood the case reports further deeply, the exchequer lost an approximated Rs 1.8 crore in the whole process.
