World Bank has yesterday announced the rankings for the states of India as far as ‘Ease of business’ is concerned. Now few local Political Parties of south India started criticizing NDA Government for manipulating the rankings since in Top 5 states, 4 are BJP rued while the 2nd place occupied AP has formed coalition with NDA.
It is observed that Congress ruled Karnataka and Kerala are placed 9th and 18th respectively where as the two states are very friendly for FDI. If we consider the FDI that flown from 2000 – 2014, Maharashtra must top the list with Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Gujarat followed. There is no way that Gujarat could top this list.
The E-Governance system deployed in Karnataka must list it in Top-5 but it is placed 9th. Jarkhand which is considered one of the least developed states of India, is ranked 3rd while Odisha, which has lost many FDI opportunities due to scams and lack of proper Policies, is ranked 7th.
Tamil Nadu, which amounts to 7 percent of total FDI of India, has been given 12th rank whereas UP, which has been the centre point for genocides, is given 10th rank.
