A hashtag #IStandWithAhmed is trending on top in Twitter since few hours. What is this and who is this Ahmed?
A Teacher in Chicago mistook a homemade digital clock made and brought to school by a Muslim Teenager, Ahmed Mohamed, for a bomb. Ahmed was then taken out of the school in handcuffs and this incident led to backlash on social media.
Speaking to a website Ahmed told that his hobby to invent stuff made him arrested. Ever since the arrest a photo of Ahmed with handcuffs is going viral on Social Media with criticism written all over.
US President Obama reacted on this incident, “Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more Kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great.”
Hillary Clinton has also extended her support to Ahmed, “Assumptions and fear don’t keep us safe-they hold us back. Ahmed, stay curious and keep building”.
