Bollywood director Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming Fashion drama ‘Calendar Girls’ is set to release on 25th September, 2015. The flick has already garnered the attention of Film goers due to the hot calendar girls and the bold and controversial topic that the film deals with.
It is the story of five models who seek to be successful in Fashion world. This film has now angered the officials of Pakistan. The reason is a simple dialogue. One of the girls in the film, who seems to be of Pakistani origin, delivers this dialogue,
“Pakistani ladkiyan bhi utne hi bold kaam karti hai jitni baki ladkiya karti hai, balki kabhi kabhi usse zyada bhi.” Means, ‘Pakistani girls also do equally bold work as other girls do, and sometimes more bolder than others’.
Pakistanis feel the dialogue portrays Pakistani culture and girls in bad light and the film might have bad influence on young girls of the country. Pakistani officials have now decided to ban the film in Pakistan and released a fatwa against ‘Calendar Girls’.
