The 75 years old BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya has passed away last night while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kolkata. The official Twitter handle of BCCI confirmed the news by posting, “BCCI condoles the sudden demise of our president Shri Jagmohan Dalmiya.”
Mr.Dalmiya has not been keeping well for a while and recently he was admitted in the hospital after he complained of chest pain. He was kept in ICU under monitor of specialist doctors but God seems to have different plans for him.
He joined the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 1979 and became treasurer in 1983. He served the BCCI as secretary and successfully hosted World cups in 1987 and 1996. He has been elected as the President of BCCI on many occasions. After a long gap, Dalmia began his second term as the president of BCCI last March.
