Andhra Pradesh to introduce Low-Alcohol Bars

As per latest developments, Andhra Pradesh government is planning to introduce bars which sell wine and beer with low-alcohol content. The government opines that this method will curb the high consumption of hard liquor.

This system currently exists in Bangalore and it is currently under proposal stage in AP. The State Government has plans to fix lower license fee for these wine and beer bars.

Simultaneously, to discourage hard liquor consumption, the state government has decided to raise the fees for regular bar license to Rs 40 lakh.

The excise department of the state also plans to introduce stipulate mandatory facilities like parking, modern kitchen with staff, air-conditioning, separate toilets for men and Women and proper ventilation.

The new bar policy will be finalized by the excise department in October. Bids for new bars will be called in November month.
