The daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Nizamabad MP Kavitha on Saturday has announced that she would donate her one year salary to her established ‘Telangana Jagruti Farmers Welfare Fund’.
“Decided to donate my one year salary for the #TelanganaJagruthi farmers’ welfare fund,” tweeted Kavitha.
Telangana Jagruti has already adopted more than 80 families of the farmers who have committed suicide and all of them will be given a monthly pension of Rs 5,000.
Kavitha has also succeeded in bringing the well-known Sportspersons of Telangana like Sania Mirza, Gutta Jwala, Pragyan Ojha etc to offer helping hand to the families of the deceased farmers. Kavitha is doing her bit for the distressed families under this platform, Telangana Jagruti Farmers Welfare Fund’.
In the past one year, more than 1,300 farmers have committed suicides in Telangana. The State Government has recently hiked the ex-gratia from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh, to the families of the farmers who committed suicide.
