Chandrababu appoints Committee to probe Girl Suicides in AP

Opposition YSRC party has been alleging for a long time that the recent suicides of girl students in private educational institutions are a failure of the State Government.

Reacting to these allegations, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has now appointed a one-member committee to enquire if the pressure from the Managements of the educational institutions to secure good ranks is leading to the suicides?

Former IAS Officer D Chakrapani will head this single-member committee and it will probe the suicides of girl students in private institutions in the state. The detailed report of the reasons and preventive measures is to be submitted within one month time.

Human Resources Development Minister of the State, Ganta Srinivasa Rao has issued the orders in this regard. D Chakrapani currently holds charge as the Director for the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems.
