The release of Tami star hero Vijay’s latest socio fantasy Film ‘Puli’ seems to be in doldrums as the early morning shows and overseas premiere are cancelled. The shows that were scheduled as early as 4 am in the theatres in Chennai are cancelled and the reasons are still not known.
According to an Industry source, the producers of Puli are yet to get clearance from Qube, which streams Movies digitally. Once the issue is settled, theatres are expected to screen the movie.
“Due to the IT raid, the makers were not allowed to move funds to clear the last minute dues so it could also be one of the reasons why exhibitors have not got clearance from Qube to screen the film,” added the source.
The film’s overseas distributor Atmus Entertainment has posted on the Twitter page that all the premieres are cancelled in Canada and the USA. Hindi and Telugu versions also remain doubtful as of now.
