Telangana govt. and its officials have been complaining for a long time that Union government has taken backstep regarding the financial assistance that was promised during the bifurcation of the Telugu states.
Recently, S Venugopalachari, the Special representative of Telangana government in New Delhi, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court pleading it to direct the Union govt. to provide the assistance to Telangana as promised.
However it turned out to be a big setback to the TS government as the Supreme Court has turned down the petition and the bench opined that the Supreme Court can’t play a broker between the Central and State Government.
Now Telangana government is in trouble from Centre for moving to the Supreme Court against it. As per sources, from now on, Union govt. has decided to minimize the already sanctioned assistance to teach a lesson to TS govt.
