The Andhra Pradesh government has given the sister province status to Toyama state in Japan, to improve cultural relations and bilateral trade. The decision is a result of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s recent visit to Japan.
Chandrababu held meetings with the Toyama state administrative authorities and requested the state’s cooperation to develop Andhra Pradesh. Few enthusiastic industrialists from Toyama have even come up with Investment proposals but they are yet to be finalized.
Toyama Shares many similar Features with Andhra Pradesh, mainly the agriculture and aquaculture Sectors. Toyama brims with port-based trade just like AP.
A state delegation, headed by the Principal Finance Secretary PV Ramesh, left for Toyama to sign a MoU on this proposed sister province. The delegation will also meet the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe to invite him for the foundation stone ceremony of capital city, Amaravati, on 22nd October.
Chandrababu’s tours are definitely yielding some results.
