Yesteryear actress turned politician Nagma has been appointed as the General Secretary of All India Mahila Congress. Congress Party Vice President Rahul Gandhi has approved her name for this position.
After making her silver screen debut with the 1990 Salman Khan starrer Hindi Film ‘Baaghi: A Rebel For Love’, she made her Tollywood debut with Nagarjuna’s cult film ‘Killer’. Post that, she then went on to act in many blockbusters establishing her as one of the top actresses of southern cinema.
Although, Nagma was first approached by the Congress party in 2003 itself, she rejected the offer as she was quite a busy actress at that time.
She joined politics in 2006 and since then, she has been raising her voice for the Women’s rights in the society. She has also played a key role in Uttar Pradesh politics.
With this new position, Nagma has gone a step higher in her political career.
