According to sources, the Telangana government has directed all the district authorities to celebrate “Bathukamma” festival in all district headquarters, municipalities and villages, which reflects the culture and tradition of the state.
The State Government has already sanctioned Rs 10 Crore for these Celebrations across the state. However, Political Analysts feel that the money has been allocated only to highlight the programmes conducted by Telangana Jagruthi, headed by Kalwakuntla Kavitha, daughter of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Nizamabad MP.
The authorities of every district must have to coordinate with the Telangana Jagruthi members to celebrate the festival. As the festival works would be given to the TS Jagruthi workers only, there would be cutouts of Kavitha all over the state to highlight her role in the festivities.
It is a ploy of Kavitha to promote herself using the name of Bathukamma festival and the allotment of Rs 10 Crore says it all, said a reliable source.
