Senior Tamil actress Manorama, popularly known as “Aachi”, has passed away today morning at a hospital in Chennai. She has been suffering from health conditions from few months and was admitted at the hospital.
Manorama is one of the senior most actresses of Southern cinema. The actress has appeared in close to 1,500 Movies and 1,000 plays in her five decades long career. She also holds the Guinness World Record for acting in more than 1000 Films.
She won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1989 and was also awarded the Padma Shri in 2002.
Manorama’s last appearance in Telugu was in ‘Arundathi’ in 2008 and in Suriya’s ‘Singam 2’ in Tamil.
